IDG World Expo Sustainability Statement

As a leader in the events industry, the manner in which IDG World Expo achieves success is as important as success itself. That’s why we regard the role we can play in the stewardship of the environment, and the health of our customers and employees, as key elements of our responsibility to be a sustainable company, today and tomorrow. To that end, we are taking steps to “go green” by implementing policies and programs to reduce the direct impact of our operations on the environment.

Through our partnership with Carbonfund.org, the nation’s leading provider of voluntary climate solutions, we have committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our company. Carbonfund.org will offset the carbon associated with daily operations at IDG World Expo by investing in a combination of certified renewable energy, reforestation and energy efficiency projects.

IDG World Expo is also taking steps to make our events more sustainable, including working with the Moscone Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center to use ‘green’ solutions at the events themselves. Examples of these greening initiatives include: the use of food containers and utensils that are biodegradable; donating surplus food to local shelters; using recycled carpet throughout the convention center halls; recycling exhibits materials; providing recycling bins for badges; and the use of plasma screens instead of printed signage wherever possible, to name a few.

Sustainable development is a simple idea that ensures a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come. In addition to the steps we are already taking, IDG World Expo will continue to seek new opportunities to further offset our carbon footprint.
